We follow the Holy Spirit one day at a time and welcome you to join us in this journey.
August has been a very busy month at our church! We may be small in
number, but we are strong and mighty! We were able to collect
numerous backpacks complete with binders, pens, paper, notebooks,
calculators, lunch containers etc., all items needed for students to
start back to school in September. These items were taken to Bridges,
the shelter in Cambridge, for those in need.
On Sunday, August 28th, we are saddened to say good-bye to Canon
Mario Hryniewcz and his wife Pat when he retires as the interim priest
for our church. He has been with us for a full 3 years and has truly
inspired us throughout this time, especially during the trying time of
the pandemic. Canon Mario and Pat will be starting in September at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener, where he will once again fill in as
an interim pastor there and continue to inspire others. Both of them
will be sorely missed, but we wish them many blessings and our prayers
go with them.
Christian Meditation still continues virtually every Tuesday night at
6:25 pm with Canon Lynne Calhoun leading us. Anyone interested in
joining us, please contact the church at 519-448-1851.
In the first week of September, we will welcome, Rev. Eleanor Caruana,
who will be joining us as our priest. We look forward to meeting and
worshiping with her. All are welcome to join us!
As a community-based organization we are focused on helping make the community around us a better, happier place. We organize fundraisers and community events to raise donations of money and needed goods for our partners: Our Daily Bread Food Program at Grace Anglican, the Brant County Community Food Bank, and the Cambridge Shelter.
Our goal is to raise awareness of the root causes of poverty and to build a strong and supportive community to reduce poverty in Ontario by 25% in 5 years. Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, we thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
We want to involve the whole parish in an intergenerational outreach, so if you are passionate about what we're doing; let us know! We are always looking for new members to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to get involved in the best way that suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
Taking care of our neighbors makes for a stronger community. Looking out for one another ensures a safer and happier neighborhood. When we all do a little, we can do so much, and we know individuals do make a difference!
